Driving anvil tool, used when driving post sleeves into the ground |
sale price: $26.00 |
Basic post and sleeve breakdown:
The anvil slides into the ground sleeve. You then drive the sleeve into the ground by hitting the anvil with a heavy hammer. The anvil prevents the top of the sleeve from getting damaged from the hammer.
After your ground sleeve is in the ground, slide your post into the sleeve. The fit is snug and the post telescopes in the sleeve most of the way. There are holes at the bottom of each sleeve for drainage and space for water expansion. Without this space and drainage, water could freeze and burst the ground sleeve in cold climates. Posts and sleeves are both galvanized to prevent rust. Sleeves are roughly two feet long.
